TL;DR: No.
A bit from my personal experience. When I got serious about losing weight I skimmed any number of credentialed experts who claimed you should try to eat five or six mini-meals a day. The bottom line for one such expert was any time you're awake it shouldn't be more than three hours since you last ate. The theory was that if people went too long without eating their blood sugar fell too low and then when they ate they tended to overeat.
I tried this. I gave it up after about a week and a half. I found that just when I was starting to really enjoy my food I had to stop eating. And the theory also seemed wrong to me: I didn't eat too much because my blood sugar was low; I ate too much because I really like to eat.
I went the opposite way: OMAD or one meal a day (albeit about 2400 calories at that meal) and I'm quite happy with the results.
