"We Are Living in a Golden Age of Apples"

Three things I learned from this interesting article:

--The "apple" in the Garden of Eden story was almost surely not an apple. Maybe a fig, maybe a peach, maybe something else.

--My favorite type, Honeycrisp, divides the apple world into "Before Honeycrisp" and "After Honeycrisp" and is currently the third most produced variety in the U.S.

--There is an even newer variety, in addition to Honeycrisp and Cosmic Crisp (my wife's favorite), Evercrisp.

"'World's most accurate economist' predicts if Trump or Harris will win 2024 election and the impact on the US market"

"World's most accurate economist" drew my attention.

The ranking is by Bloomberg, who seems like a reasonable assessor. The economist, Christophe Barraud, French born and educated, ranked first in eleven of the twelve years from 2012 to 2013--the other year he ranked second. Now the charts he displays on his webpage show only 20 business economists in the rankings--I don't know if there are more--and it's not clear to me how significant the differences in "average score" are.

But eleven out of twelve years still seems like more than luck. Maybe supplement Ph.D. courses in macro with some instruction from this guy.
