"2023 Chart of the Year". Or, as various people from Niels Bohr to Yogi Berra are supposed to said, "It is difficult to make predictions, especially about the future."
Economist Gary Galles puts it correctly: there are only bad and even worse options left.
I found this is oddly interesting:
Right in the center of the island nation of Madagascar there’s a strange, almost perfectly circular geological structure. It covers a bigger area than the city of Paris — and at first glance, it looks completely empty. But right in the center of that structure, there’s a single, isolated village: a few dozen houses, some fields of crops, and dirt roads stretching out in every direction.

to all my faithful readers. Posting will resume on Wednesday.
I enjoyed this documentary on Amazon Prime. Of the 31 backs in the NFL who have carried for 10,000 yards, Sanders had the second highest yards per carry. (Second only to Jim Brown.)
YouTube also has some excellent highlights from his career: See, for examples, "Barry Sanders Mini-Movie: Untouchable with the Ball!" and "Barry Sanders Top 50 Most Ridiculous Plays of All-Time".
I was nine when Jim Brown retired and I never saw him live. So Sanders is the probably the most exciting back I've ever seen, matched maybe only by Sweetness and, occasionally, Beast Mode.
On the mound Drysdale was a mean SOB.
I don't know about "most"--for example, Fischer's queen sacrifice has got to be up there--but it's pretty good.
The Babylon Bee, of course.
