"NC DMV tries to improve 'customer service'"

When you hear about how "terrible" the new Republican government in NC is, keep this in mind. Simple, sensible, effective and not done in decades of Democratic management.

Related: Josh Barro asks "Why Do People Hate the DMV So Much?" and finds that some of the time, horrible DMVs can be improved. He discusses the DMV in Massachusetts as an important example and he concludes:

Shouldn't we take a similar lesson from Healthcare.gov: That it's a horribly botched operation, but the failure is a reason to demand better from our public sector managers, rather than to throw our hands up and conclude that liberalism is discredited?

I'll just note that in Massachusetts, as in NC, the governor making the improvement was a . . . Republican.
