Yes, economics departments are . . . different

Not, mind you, that that's necessarily a bad thing. But Robert Lawson links to three separate instances where infighting in economics departments probably has passed from entertaining to sad.

(And regarding economists being different, here's the brief bio of an Auburn economics professor who states in bold--I'm guessing this is intended as humorous commentary on academia or maybe people generally--that he "has never voted nor has he ever been indicted".)
