Look at the bright side. My alma mater, the University of Chicago, promoted Michelle Obama to a newly created position with a 150% pay hike when Barack moved from the Illinois State Senate to the US Senate. Since she left in 2008, they have never filled that desperately needed post. And yes, Barack pushed earmarks for U of C while he was in the US Senate. And then there is Barack, who taught at the law school. Newly hired assistant professors there are already published. But Barack didn't publish any academic work in all the time he was a senior lecturer there. But the law school still offered him a tenure track job, in spite of his clear lack of interest in research, and in spite of, as Richard Epstein, a complete lack of any intellectual engagement with the faculty. Sigh.
