One excellent bit is at about 46:11 in. Referring to Mayor Koch's plans to renew Times Square--when he took office it was a crime-ridden cesspool--an activist says, "We know that the ultimate purpose of that project is to get rid of poor people in Midtown Manhattan and we're not leaving."
The film then cuts to Koch who says when they started to change 42nd Street, ". . . the one block brought in $5 million in taxes annually. And we said it should bring in $800 million. And you use those monies to provide services for poor people. But the nuts don't understand that."
