I know you grew up here (South Fla.), Craig. I've lived here for almost 28 years now. I've been a sub lover, and known many burly lumberjacks and coal miners here who love a good sub.
I've yet to hear from anyone a word in praise of Publix subs. Maybe they're great. Generally, their deli and prepared food is grade C-.
But we'll give one a try soon.

Since I'm in the Detroit Metro area I'm unlikely to see one of these soon. Looking forward to your report. Around here the Subways tend to differ by franchisee, I think. Some of them are very, very good.
Now, the real question. Does Publix pay their sandwich makers 15/hr?

Publix is unionized; I never asked anyone who worked there what they made. But I'd be surprised if someone with that (full-time) job grossed over 30 Gs a year.
But in the word of Juaquin Andujar: Youneverknow.
