. . . but, I'm sorry, I thought this was funny: "The Execution Of Mentally Retarded Individuals Such As Myself Runs Against Our Society's Most Fundamental Moral Principles". (The Onion.)

I, one, could never understand how things such cognitive impairment or mental illness should count as mitigation in deciding whether to execute. Seems a little backwards to me.
