A question about how The Kids talk
I read an article recently that used, without explaining, the acronym YOLO. Googling it I found the assertion that nobody over 25 would know what it meant while everybody under 25 would. In my testing so far, that prediction is nearly 100% accurate.
How would the kids talk if it weren't for rappers?

I had to Bing it, too. Just out of curiousity.
O tempora! O mores!

Well, I knew, but then I teach middle school. I have to keep up on the language of the natives.

It's Carpe Diem for stupids.

I knew it, but I teach a lot of undergrads. I have a hard time getting to understand that in all likelihood someday they'll be trying to get a job that requires them to demonstrate facility in speaking and writing appropriate English.
Ah, well.
