This seems to fit with the Khan Academy trial of teachers assigning the videos as homework then using class time as a lab for individual help. No use in a thousand variants when the lessons can be filtered to the best with the in-person teacher providing the individualized help where physical presence is most value-added. Now the best presenters need to record their lessons.
