Occasionally, I'll come across a statement in English the meaning of which I have no useful idea. From the comments after this blog post:
"p.s. i have brewed kombucha for many years and enjoy it. one can readily find scobys from reputable local dealers via google and the like. not sure whether that is also the case in PRC."

You need a scoby if you want to roll your own dooby-doo.
Seriously, one could substitute "food" with "Climate Change" and make an interesting point.
