'Riding in upon a teal Ford Focus came a great warrior, a suitor of the gentlefolks’ granddaughter.'
I can attest, from personal experience, generations ago, that this is a very advantageous position for a young squire.
I still remember an affectionate young woman saying to me, 'I can't believe it, my own grandmother!', conceding defeat in some or other quarrel between us. She'd been discretely counseled by a wiser head that she was in error of ways.
The real trick was to remain magnanimous in victory.
