"Why China’s Debt Problems Are Worse Than America's"

I think it's really hard for outsiders to know what's really going on in China. (Probably hard for insiders to know, too.) But more than a few people suspect there's big trouble brewing.

I don't find this surprising. Think Japan with what amounts to a gerontocratic, quasi-Marxist government. Without the resources, roughly, per capita that Japan had in 1990 or so. How has that turned out for the Japanese? How much worse will it be for China? What happens if it's a lot worse?
