I could make a case for Detroit. Wins per team, we do much better. And even our one failed franchise, the Lions, managed to set the record for futility.

Allen Barra is an excellent writer. I have enjoyed his columns for years.
But this made about as much sense as an accompanying article in the issue: "Has White America Lost Its Mind?".
No, everyone doesn't worship NYC and think everyone and everything there is bigger and better than anywhere else.
