I am very dubious about calorie restriction working on Humans. At least there is little evidence to suggest that it works the same way that it works on tiny animals with short lifespans.
It is not as though we do not have ample evidence in history of human beings going through famine, starvation, or periodic fasting. And those things have always been linked with shortened lifespans not lengthened.
Of course, I am not talking about obesity. But a slender healthy person who gets moderate exercise and who has good genetics will probably last till they are ninety with modern medicine.
I see little reason to believe that caloric restriction will improve that much if at all.
