"Fed Considers Sweeping Rules on Bank Pay"

I think it's a bad idea.

But I would consider supporting the change if the proposed rules were also applied to the Fed's managers, the executive branch, and Congress. Especially this one: "And they will support 'clawbacks' that would enable companies to reclaim money if profits turn out to have been illusory after an executive has been paid."

Mr./Ms. Representative, you supported spending taxpayer money on wool and mohair subsidies? Give some of your salary back.

Unfortunately these various government officials don't even make all that much so we wouldn't gain anything with our clawbacks.

Elected officials often make plenty *after* they retire...their contacts and knowledge of the process are valuable, even in cases where they aren't being effectively paid for services rendered/

And the more government dominates the economy, the more lucrative these post-retirement opportunities will be.

Just showing their natural resentment those valuable enough to make more than Congresscritters and bureaucrats. Envy is an ugly thing, at best, and downright disgusting when accompanied by power.
