"Drives of a Lifetime: The World's Greatest Scenic Routes"
National Geographic lists 52. I think I can claim full credit for three and partial credit for another three. Maybe when I'm retired . . .
And here's ABC News's "10 Most Spectacular Drives in the World". Almost no overlap with the Geographic list.

First I was excited because the 52 included the Great River Road. Then I was disappointed because they only wrote about the part between Minneapolis and Davenport. Admittedly you won't find many cities of any size on the part of the Road between Davenport and St. Louis, but there is some great scenery that is pretty well unknown to the non-Western Illinois types.
Oh, well.

FYI, National Geographic does NOT lists 52 drives. It lists 50 of them.
