It's not just customers. I have students who insist that I 'teach' their way, or else. (I don't always know or else what.)
Just recently I had a student inform me that she couldn't learn stats (mostly how to use SPSS, which I admit is a beast) because she is "a visual learner" and my combination of lecture and demonstration (we were in a computer lab with each student having their own computer) failed to let her "see" what I was doing. She informed me that she would come to my office where she could watch over my shoulder as I demonstrated how to use SPSS. She wanted the whole class repeated each day this way.
