The post totally misses Settlers of Catan. This simple German board game teaches the concepts of opportunity cost, comparative advantage, and trade intuitively using cards which are hard commodities.
There's also a taxman, whom the game calls the "robber." He's not good for anyone other than the individual who gets to use him at the moment, teaching a bit of Public Choice.
My kids have been playing since they were 5. There is no math, just trading and building. Excellent game.
