Updated pie chart from the Skeptical Optimist

And gets the usual comments from those who may not even understand normal individual debt, let alone federal debt. It really would be interesting to see a federal 'budget' written up in corporate form. I wonder what the US, Inc balance sheet would look like? For one thing, what's the value of all that property (improved and unimproved) and what's its depreciation rate and depreciated value and all that? (To say nothing of 'good will' values.) I still distinctly remember (late 80s) when Japan, Inc was going to 'buy up' the US, right? How did that work out? I.e., I'll believe in the current version of 'The Yellow Menace' when I see it happening and not until.
