Journalism vs PR
I think that Conservatives would tend to go into PR, where they can focus on just the good things about their "product".
A good journalist will have to speak ill of both parties,
impartiality being the coin of the realm...ideally.
From what I have witnessed, Conservatives don't much care about impartiality. They only care about winning...at all costs. The cost, in this case being truth, impartiality.

Journalists are liberal-socialist for the reasons Schumpeter, Hayek, and Sowell said; as second-hand dealers in ideas, that's where their market is.
